You won't find any auto-attack here, standing in one place trading blows with a monster, not nearly exciting enough. In our world, you swing your sword, or shoot your fireball, and move to dodge before your enemy strikes you! Take the fight to the nightmares in a live action FPS-style combat system. Or duel other players to see who is the true champion of the city!
Be a part of a vast Underlight City of dreamers. Real people, just like you, creating real characters. There are no pre determined paths for you to follow and no specified end game. You are in control of how your character interacts with the other characters creating true conflict and resolution. It's your dream to make.
Enter a world of complete player driven stories and interactions. There are no bots here handing out the exact same quests. How will you get wrapped up and proceed? Will you become a Teacher and help others grow? Will you take the noble path of a Ruler or Guardian of one of the Houses? Maybe you will hone your fighting skills and become a great warrior. The choice is yours to make. Create your own compelling character backstory and flesh it out with fellow Dreamers in the dynamic dream city of Underlight. Your actions and experiences will have a direct impact on an ever evolving story line with rich and engaging characters, histories, beliefs and factions! Every other Dreamer you speak to in Underlight is played by a real human being.

Please go to www.underlight.com Click on the Account page to create your primary account. Once complete you will return to the Account System to create your first character - Read the details of each focus, choose between male and female. You can also create a Pmare, which is a player controlled "nightmare" for use in the game to attack other players. Welcome to the oldest MMORPG still adding new content since 1998.

I've been playing Underlight now for a year, there is no other game out there like this one. Your character can be as in depth(or not) as you want them to be. The community is helpful and kind. If you want to be an actor, here is your stage. <3 for Underlight.

I played Underlight when it was pay to play, at 13 years old! Recently I returned, at the ripe age of 33, and I'm glad I did. The community is great, and the advancement is much quicker than it ever use to be. It does take time to 'level up' but if you're willing to sacrifice some time for some fun, you'll enjoy it! I would say there isn't much going on during the 8-5 window, where most people are working, but the nights are easily all-nighters if you so choose. I'd love to see the community continue to grow and bring back what use to be 100's of players at any given point in the day! Safe dreams!
I have played Underlight off and on for about twenty years. It's changed hands a few times but the community sticks together. Old school graphics and forced in character role playing in a city of dreams. This is the truest of all role playing games and quite frankly, the best I have ever known.
I started 2 years ago, it took some time to get used to the controls, but once you get that down, it's easily one of the best true roleplaying experiences out there.
Yeah it's alright I guess
This will be my 21st year of Underlight. And one thing the wonderful description misses is the fact that you can create ~any~ sort of character and path. The Purple Lace character (mine!!!!) is a perfect example of that. The stories possible are limited ONLY by your own imagination. This version of Underlight is now able to actually make and place special effects around now, which is something we long-timers only dreamt of in the late 90's Excellent, helpful GM's and story lines that are completely immersive. Curious??? You have to come see!!! ~L~
I've been playing Underlight for almost 20 years. It's become a part of my life, and the people have become friends and family. The roleplay experience is like nothing you will find in any other game out there outside of text-based games. Real RP, real battles, real people. The community is stellar, everyone is very helpful and welcoming. If you like real pen and paper type RP, Underlight is a MUST try for you.
Woahmygosh, I love this game :) It took me about a week to understand how to play, but it was well worth it, and I've been playing now for several years :) I highly recommend it.
